Next generation A-Class boosted

31 July 2002: DaimlerChrysler AG said it is investing about 900 million euro for the next generation of Mercedes-Benz A-Class model.

A statement said the amount will include investments in expanding the plant in Rastatt to boost production capacity as well expansion of the overall industrial area at the Rastatt plant site.

The A-Class, the smallest model in the Mercedes-Benz product range, was first launched in October 1997.
