V8 Allroad will run

14 October 2002: A 4.2-litre V8-powered version of the Audi Allroad will be rolled out in some world markets in the spring. The car uses the engine that powers versions of the A6 and the Audi A8.

The 300bhp output gives the more powerful car a 50bhp power boost over the existing 2.7-litre V6 Allroad, along with a 14% increase in torque.

The V8 car was originally shown at the Geneva Motor Show in March, and was also displayed at the recent Paris show.

Six inches had to be taken off the length of the engine to get it into the Allroad.
