
18 March 2004: The new Audi A6 will arrive in Ireland in mid-Summer with improved spaciousness for all passengers thanks to an 83mm longer wheelbase.
The car will feature the new front grille design first shown on the flagship A8.
The new comes with five new engines - three petrol and two TDI units. Petrol versions consist of a 2.4-litre V6 177 bhp/230 Nm unit, a 3.2-litre V6 FSI 255 bhp/330 Nm unit and a 4.2-litre V8 335 bhp/420 Nm.
Diesel versions are a 2.0-litre TDI 140 bhp/320 Nm unit and a 3.0-litre TDI V6 225 bhp/450 Nm unit. All comply with the new EU4 emission standard.
The first models to arrive here will be a 3.0-litre TDI quattro and 2.4-litre V6 petrol (expected June/July) followed in September by a 2.0-litre TDI.
