20 November 2002: Two new engines will be available in Ireland for the Audi A4 Cabriolet. A new 161bhp 1.8T petrol and a 2.5 TDi engine models will be here towards the end of January or early February.

The A4 Cabriolet can now be had with a range of power outputs from 161bhp-217bhp The new engine has a peak torque of 225Nm (166lb ft) available from just 1,950rpm. It will be capable of accelerating to 62mph from rest in 9.4 seconds and will reach a top speed, where permissible, of 140mph and returns 28.8mpg.

The Audi multitronic continuously variable transmission (CVT) will also be available for the 1.8 T.
