Citroen announces C8 prices, specs

30 January 2003: Citroen has announced prices and specifications for the new C8 MPV which is now on sale and can be seen in dealer showrooms.

The prices are E35,550 for the 2.0i 16V SX version, E38,640 for the 2.0HDI 110bhp SX version and E40,970 for the 2.0HDi 110bhp VSX version.

The HDi version is fitted with the PSA Group's patented Particulate Filter that virtually eliminates all particulate emissions.

The C8 has received a 4 star Euro NCAP crash test rating and comes with six airbags, including two curtain airbags for head protection in all three rows, and ABS with EBD and EBA. Other safety items include 3-point seatbelts all round and hazard-warning lights that operate automatically on heavy braking.

The SX model comes with tri-zone automatic digital air conditioning with individual air flow controls for second row passengers, twin sliding side doors, variable power assisted steering and an on-board trip computer with multi-function display. The exterior look includes 'aluminium' effect door and tailgate handles.

Inside the cabin there are seven individual seats, each fitted with three-point seat belts, a stereo radio/CD player and up to 5 storage compartments. There's also an additional folding rear view mirror for keeping an eye on children in the back seats, electric
windows all round and electrically operated and heated door mirrors with integrated side repeaters.

The VSX models offer twin electric sliding rear doors with remote control operation, retractable sunblinds for middle and rear windows, automatic rain sensitive windscreen wipers, automatic illumination of the driving lights, 'aluminium' effect integrated roof bars, colour coded bumpers and alloy wheels.

Triple electric sunroofs, optional bench seat to give 8 seat configuration, 6 Captain chairs with leather upholstery and electric, heated multi-adjustable front seats with two programmable memory setting and roof mounted video screen are available as options or accessories.

Paul Cregan, MD of Gallic Distributors, saysthe new vehicle raises the standards by offering a 'class-leading blend of style, space, technology, refinement and safety'. "It will offer buyers a real alternative in its class and will complement the smaller Xsara Picasso and Berlingo Multispace which have proved Citroen's ability to make MPVs that people really want to buy," he says.

C8 offers 2 years warranty, anti-corrosion warranty of 12 years, providing the car undergoes an inspection by a Citroen franchised Dealer every two years, and a 3 year paint warranty.
