C4 WRC will replace Xsara

09 September 2004: Now in the development phase, the C4 WRC should make its race debut at the end of next season, and replace the Xsara WRC in the World Rally Championship from 2006 onwards.

The 2-litre engine will output 315bhp, and the details of the car as currently rolled out show the shape of Citroen's rallying challenge after the Xsara WRC.

The Xsara, with six wins from eleven races, is currently leading the 2004 Manufacturers’ Championship. Sébastien Loeb is leading the Drivers’ classification, while Carlos Sainz is lying fourth.

The C4 WRC recently made its first roll-out on the track situated alongside the Versailles-Satory workshops.
