New Citroën Relay Van range launched

26 June 2002: The new Citroën Relay Van range is now available on the Irish Market. Priced from 20,500 euros inclusive of VAT, the range includes three advanced, common rail HDi diesel engines (2.0, 2.2 and 2.8). A range of 5 models is being launched in Ireland and a new crew-cab version will be launched in July, along with a mini-bus version.

In developing the new Relay, Citroën has re-engineered the existing model, retaining the class-leading aspects of its design and considerably improving comfort and safety, performance and cost of operation, load carrying efficiency, reliability and durability.

Standard equipment on all models includes ABS, drivers air bag, central locking, electric front windows, electric heated twin lens door mirrors, in-dash CD, height adjustable drivers seat with lumbar support and front fog lamps.

Citroën Vans control 9.1% of the Irish Van Market and are in fourth place behind Ford, V.W. and Toyota and will achieve third place by the end of 2002. Citroën hold second place behind Renault with 10% market share in the European Van market. The Citroën Relay Van range greatly outsells the Ford Transit range in Europe, whereas, the Ford Transit is the number one selling van in Ireland.
