Conti develops new safety system

25 September 2003: Tyre and automotive safety giant Continental-Teves has developed a safety system that integrates passive and active safety components to 'stage' response to accident situations.

The Active Passive Integration Approach links up steering and brakes with seatbeltss and airbags to avoid or minimise the effects of accidents.

The system uses radar sensors and cameras.
