Cars of the Year imminent

20/10/04: by Brian Byrne — The 2005 European Car of the Year result will be announced on November 9, just over a week before the Semperit Irish Car of the Year 2005 decision is announced.

The European jury have shortlisted seven cars for their award: the Toyota Prius, Opel Astra, BMW 1 Series, Citroen C4, Ford Focus and Peugeot 407.

Members of the Irish Motoring Writers Association are choosing from over 40 entrants this year, which will be shortlisted to five after a Refresher Day event on November 4.
