1 May 2002: At their own expense, 20 students from the DT150 Motor Industry Management course in DIT Bolton Street, Dublin, along with two tutors embarked on a recent trip to the manufacturing plants of BMW cars and MAN trucks in Munich, the BMW state of the art factory in Dingolfing, and a Porsche Distributor in Munich.

According to tutor George Campbell, such trips expose the students to the real world of car design and large scale manufacture, and build important bridges between theory and practice.

The trip was organised by the Student Society of Motor Industry Management with the help of Tom Corrigan and Paul Lalor, Transport Department DIT; Dara Sullivan, MAN Truck Importers (Ireland); and Paula Fagan, Motor Import Ltd.
