Two-wheel transport an alternative to gridlock?

20 August 2001: An alternative to sitting in gridlock could well be the EBike, which is battery assisted and allows the user to travel upwards of almost 30 kilometers on one charge.

The EBike can be used by all ages without restriction of licence or compulsary insurance. It is silent running and produces zero emissions and was officially launched on to the Irish market last month.

In addition to electric power assistance, it has electric indicators, brake lights, headlight and horn, front wheel suspension forks, a bigger than ususal saddle with built in suspension, FM stereo with speakers, wing mirrors, traction control system for climbing inclines and wet weather use, and electronic console showing time, speed, stopwatch and trip meter, and a display showing battery efficiency and output.

The EBike also comes complete with battery charger, manuals, lock and full spares back up. It comes in a choice of 5 colours – red, yellow, green, blue and silver and carries a full years warranty.

It retails £960. Further information from the Irish distributors at EBike Sales Ireland Ltd at 01-2962322 fax: 01-2962064 e-mail: ebikes@eircom.net
