
24 June 2002: Formula 1 World Champion Michael Schumacher (pictured above left) will reveal the second car to achieve a Euro NCAP crash testing 5-star rating at a ceremony in Cologne tomorrow.
Schumacher will join Max Mosley, Euro NCAP Chairman and FIA President, as one of the guest speakers during the press conference. The latest five star car will also be subjected to a live frontal impact crash test for the assembled international media.
The Renault Laguna II was the first car to achieve the top rating. The cars in the latest round of testing are Audi A2, BMW Mini, VW Polo, Opel Corsa, Range Rover, Opel Frontera, Jeep Cherokee, Honda CRV, Mazda MX5, Mercedes SLK, Honda S2000, Ford Mondeo, Opel Vectra, Jaguar X-type, and Peugeot 607.
