The Relief of Enfield is nigh

9 April 2002: The new Enfield Relief Road will be officially opened by Noel Dempsey TD, Minister for the Environment and Local Government, on Friday, 12th April 2002, when he cuts the ribbon and allows the first traffic onto the new road at 10.30am.

The road is aimed at relieving traffic congestion in one of the country's most congested traffic bottlenecks and reduce travel time for motorists travelling from Dublin to the West by up to 30 minutes at peak times.
