18 March 2002: Eugene O’ Reilly has taken full control of the Hyundai franchise in Ireland. Hyundai Cars Ireland LTD was founded in 1995 by Mr O’ Reilly and his partner Danny Keaney.

Bringing over 20 years of successful experience with BMW and Mitsubishi, Eugene O’Reilly now plans to devote his entire energies to further growing the Hyundai franchise in Ireland.

Since its launch in 1995, Hyundai Cars Ireland has registered over 25,000 passenger cars and currently holds 3.1% of the Irish market. The last two years, has seen the arrival of eight new models to the range. Hyundai Motor Company aims to become one of the World’s "Top 5" players within the next five years.
