27 March 2002: To coincide with the opening/redevelopment of four Fiat dealerships around the country (Counties Cork, Limerick, Galway and Dublin) a Ferrari Formula 1 car will be going on display in each of the four new showrooms for a very limited period starting Friday 5th April in Millstreet, Co Cork.
The car in question is the Ferrari F2000, the type driven by Michael Schumacher for Scuderia Ferrari when he first brought both the Manufacturers and Drivers World Championship titles back to an ecstatic Maranello after an absence of more than 20 years. This therefore is one of the most important cars in the history of Formula 1 racing.
The dates / venues for the displays are as follows:
April 5th-6th-7th, at Colemans of Millstreet, Millstreet, Co. Cork;
April 12-13-14th, at Motorzone, Dock Rd., Limerick;
April 19-20-21st, at Millennium Autos, Briarhill Business Park, Galway;
April 26-27-28th at Airton Motor Centre, Airton Rd., Tallaght.
This F2000 has a 2977cc 40-valve V10 engine producing over 770 bhp. Ferrari is part of the Fiat Group of companies and the Fiat group often adopts technology from these racing cars, such as the Selespeed sequential gear-change used in the new Fiat Stilo.
