Fiat upgrades Multipla

24 July 2002: Fiat has revised its Multipla range with improved ride comfort, an electrically-operated tailgate, and with disc brakes all round.

The latest versions also have Smart 2 airbags, which modulate the rate at which they inflate according to the passenger's weight and mass.

The revised Multipla range continues to be available in two specification levels, SX and ELX, and can be equipped with two engine options: the 103 bhp 1.6 16v petrol engine, and the 1.9 JTD common-rail direct injection diesel engine, which has been uprated to develop 115 bhp.

Fuel consumption remains unchanged.
