Flying car closer?

02/10/04: by Trish Whelan — The flying car may be closer than we think, as most of the required technology is already in place, according to experts at NASA and Boeing.

NASA is actively working on a project to bring in a small plane (skycar) for less than 80,000 that could fly from small airports, be quieter than a motorcycle, and with most of the pilots functions automated, be as simple to operate as a car.
