Ford to increase discount for disabled drivers

8 June 2001: Ford in Ireland has increased by 100% its discount for disabled drivers, doubling the amount to £600. In addition to the monetary supplement, the standard RAC 12 months coverage has been extended to 36 months and will include roadside assistance, servicing and repair for owners under the scheme.

Those eligible to benefit from the discount must be members of the Irish Wheelchair Association or Disabled Drivers Association.

Eddie Murphy, Chairman and Managing Director, Ford Ireland, said the company hopes the announcement will act as an incentive to those with disabilities to join the increasing numbers of drivers on our roads.

Further information on the scheme can be obtained from local Ford dealers, the Irish Wheelchair Association (ph: 045 861346) or the Disabled Drivers Association (094 64054). TW
