New man at Ford Europe

01 September 2003: Lewis Booth has been appointed president and COO of Ford Europe, following the departure earlier this month of Martin Leach reputedly to take over the helm at Fiat Auto.

Booth comes from Ford's Mazda subsidiary, leaving Mazda in the hands of Hisakazu Imaki. John Parker has been named executive vice president and assistant to the president and CEO at Hiroshima.

Previously, Parker was president of Ford's ASEAN Operations, based in Bangkok.

Ford acquired a 25 percent equity stake in Mazda in 1979 and increased its stake to 33.4 percent in 1996.
