A GP ain't necessarily a Jeep

22 March 2003: Think this is a Jeep, right? Wrong.

This is the military utility tactical truck, or MUTT, which was designed by Ford in the early 60s under a US Army contract for a more powerful, versatile, durable replacement of the WWII Jeep (General Purpose vehicle, or GP).

Ford delivered more than 100,000 MUTTs to the Army, which referred to them as the M-151.
