19 May 2003: This year's Iron Butt Association motorcycle rally will help the work of Jesuit priest Fr Peter McVerry in providing care and accommodation for homeless and deprived children.

The rally is being held on the weekend of Thursday, June 19th - Saturday, June 21st.

Starting and ending in Banagher, the rally invites motorcyclists to complete a 1,000 miles or 1,000 kilometres ride within a period of just 24 hours. Riders are given a set number of points through which they must pass with time set aside for proper rest periods. Special awards go to those who complete the course.

Details can be had by e-mail from Iron Butt Association Secretary John Wheeler at <wheelman@iol.ie> or through the Association’s web site <www.ibai.ie>
