Jaguar, Land-Rover, outstrip US sales records

3 October 2002: Jaguar and Land Rover have exceeded their all-time full calendar year sales records in the US in just nine months of sales in 2002, and the new Range Rover is already selling at twice the rate of the old one in North American markets.

Jaguar beat its 2001 record sales of 44,532 cars, selling 48,006 to date, with sales of the X-Type being particularly improved. Land Rover sold 30,060 vehicles, topping its 1999 sales record of 29,380 vehicles.

Jaguar sold 4,222 cars for the month of September, up 40 percent. Land Rover sales totaled 3,569 vehicles sold, an increase of 75 percent for the same month last year.
