Life after Alto in India

01 December 2003: Just to prove that there IS life after being a Suzuki, Indian manufacturer Maruti Udyog has introduced a redesigned Suzuki Alto as a Zen

And in true Indian prose style, the car is described very cat-like in the official leaflet: "snow leopard inspired cat-eye styling", "cheetah-like acceleration", "stalking endurance of a Jaguar".

Which slightly contradicts its pathetic 800 cc engine.

Maruti would like to attract younger customers to its core compact model.

The exterior styling is marked with new bumpers and hood, while at the back there are brand new tail lights and a redesigned bumper as well. In the interior the new center console attracts the eye.


Maruti which is 54.2 per cent owned by Suzuki.
