16 April 2002: Police in Canada are handing out morgue toe-tags to motorists who don't wear seatbelts and asking them to fill in their own names as deceased and details of their next of kin.
The back of the tags have messages warning motorists of the injuries they could suffer in an accident. It's part of a campaign to help ram home the safety message.
Police are telling offenders to 'make it easier for us when you're in a crash' and it will help officers 'to recognise them even if they're unrecognisable', and be able to tell their loved ones what has happened.
The campaign will run for a month across Alberta.
