Tigra Twin Top for Geneva

30 January 2004: The star of the Opel stand at Geneva has just broken cover - the revival of the Tigra name brings the GM company head to head with the very popular small coupe-cabriolets rolling around our roads.

The Opel Tigra TwinTop, as well as offering open air motoring or solid metal rain protection for two on the run also features a fairly decent usable trunk with a volume of up to 440 litres – thanks to the design of the electrohydraulic retractable roof, which folds almost vertically into the body.

An additional 70 liters of storage space is available behind the seats.

The new car is powered by a 1.4-litre engine with 90 hp on tap, and a more powerful 1.8-litre/125 hp unit. A five-speed manual gearshift is standard equipment and the 1.4 is also available with the Easytronic automated manual transmission.

The respected coachbuilder Groupe Henri Heuliez S.A. in Cerizay, France produces the new Opel Tigra TwinTop. Sales are due to begin in late summer.
