Vectra comes in from the cold

18 February 2003: The Opel Vectra has proved itself a hot number by winning a Winter Test of 19 cars arranged by the Finnish motoring magazine Tekniikan Maailma.

The model in the test was a 2.2 GTS, and the testers found that the cabin environment was particularly well able for the arctic conditions.

It beat the new Mercedes Benz E Class, Volvo V40 Sportswagon, Mazda 6, Nissan Primera, Skoda Superb and Renault Megane.

Meanwhile, Opel's Astra Convertible, based on the Bertone-styled coupe of that model, has won the Quik-Fit award for the second year in succession in the convertible section.
