9 April 2002: The Concept M Opel Corsa-based vehicle shown at the Geneva Motor Show is very close to the production version of a mini MPV to be launched next year by Opel.

Although front and rear details will be different from the concept, the exterior panels will be the same. Opel's success in the compact MPV segment, where it has won over a quarter of all European sales in the segment, has probably encouraged the company to push ahead with the project.

The M will go head to head with Ford's Fiesta-based Fusion, due for launch later this year.
