New Movano premiered

20 October 2003: The 2004 edition of Opel's Movano van has premiered at the RAI Motor Show in Amsterdam. The company also announced a 26 percent increase in 2003 European commercial vehicle sales (Q1-Q3) compared to 2002.

The new van features ptimised seats and new storage compartments, a lighter power steering, and a new joystick gearshift in the instrument panel.

It also comes with the first six-speed manual transmission in this segment, new turbo diesel engines and an extended two-year/40,000km service interval (1.9 CDTI: two-years/30,000 km). New options like an anti-theft device, parkpilot, cruise control and on-board computer round off the new edition Movano package.

Last year, Opel substantially exceeded its 2001 LCV volume in Western and Central Europe, registering over 112,000 units, compared to 79,500 in 2001. In an overall shrinking CV market, this positive growth has carried over into this year. Opel’s Western and Central European CV market share increased to almost 5.9 percent for the January-September period (a 26.4 percent volume increase), compared to 4.8 percent for the full year 2002, and 3.3 percent for 2001.
