27 September 2002: PARIS MOTOR SHOW. There's a strong contingent of Irish motor people at this year's Paris Motor Show. Apart from those mentioned in yesterday's stories - Ford's Eddie Murphy, Daewoo's Tom McQueirns, Honda's Frank Kennedy - we also met up with quite a few others since.
The most recent at this writing were the group from Motor Import, out to check up on the latest BMW sports car, the Z4. They were (above) Billy Riordan, Michael Nugent, Paddy Murphy, Claire O'Neill, Frank Keane and Dene McQuaid.
We also crossed paths and shared sore feet stories with (right) Imelda Ashe of Citroen Ireland, Michaela Dennehy of Opel Ireland, and Emma Toner from Peugeot Ireland, as well as Declan McCourt from SEAT and Saab and Jaguar distributors Hispano Ltd. And we sat down for a welcome break with Niall Costello (below) of Citroen Ireland.
Colleagues also met up with a large contingent from Toyota Ireland, led by Dr Tim Mahony. Those colleagues themselves included John and Mary Reilly, Brian and Mary Foley, Kevin Fenix, Andrew Hamilton, and Ferdia O'Dowd. Included also is Conor Horgan of Frank Cullen PR.
This kind of a piece is dangerous, because we're sure to have left out somebody or other, whom we either didn't meet or can't remember. To those, apologies. To the others, it was great meeting up with you.
