407 to get first public view at Geneva

25 February 2004: The first public appearance of Peugeot's new 407 saloon and its SW variant will happen next week at the geneva Motor Show. The saloon is due in Ireland in May.

The 407 saloon and SW models on show will feature the full range of engines including a 1.8 litre, 2.0 litre, 2.2 litre and 3.0 litre petrol engines, as well as two new 1.6 litre HDi and 2.0 litre HDi diesel engines, equipped with particle emission filter.

Peugeot's ever popular 206 will celebrate its four millionth production model in Geneva. The best-selling car in Switzerland (7,200 sold in 2003), the 206 was Europe's top selling car in 2001 and 2002 and the second best in 2003. It has topped the 800,000 sales mark for three years in succession.

The Geneva Show is also the occasion for Peugeot to present the 307 saloon that will be produced in Wuhan in central China in 2004 as a result of the second phase of cooperation between PSA Peugeot Citroën and its Chinese partner Dong Feng Motors.
