Porsche decision soon on fourth model

03 December 2003: Porsche is believed to be close to a decision on building a new four-seater coupe or sports sedan to grow its sales.

Though the company is the world's most profitable car maker, sales in unit terms have been stagnant for several years.

The brand got into a new niche last year with the Cayenne SUV.

But sports car sales are declining, and Porsche is now expected to make a decision early next year on a fourth model, expected to hit the market in 2006 or 2007.

Porsche made €933 million before tax in its last business year to the end of July.
