Peugeot details 307 Estate

29 April 2002: Peugeot has released details of its upcoming 307 Estate, which increases the versions number of its European Car of the Year winner to four - hatchback, saloon, Sky Wagon (SW) and now the estate.

Though Irish prices and specifications have not yet been released - the Irish estate market is very small - it is likely that the car will eventually come with 1.6-litre petrol and 2-litre HDi turbodiesel.

Unlike the SW, there's no large roof glass, and no option of two rear seats. The car is able to easily seat five people with considerable load space ranging from 562 litres to 1,805 litres when the rear seats are folded. In the UK where it will be on sale fin May, it has six airbags, active front seat backrests, a collapsible steering column, three, three-point safety belts and three head restraints for rear passengers, ABS (anti-lock braking system) with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution) and Emergency Brake Assist.

In that market is will also be available with 1.4-litre petrol and diesel options.
