11 July 2002: Robert Taylor has been appointed Managing Director of RAC Ireland. Robert has been a director of the company in Ireland since 1997. In his new role he is responsible for both the RAC motoring services operation and the recently founded RAC School of Motoring.
Last year the RAC celebrated 10 years in Ireland. It covers almost 30% of the new car market and counts Ford, Nissan, Honda, Volvo and Daewoo among its customers.
The RAC School of Motoring features a simulator, which allows novice drivers to familiarise themselves with a cars control in the safety of a computer cabin. Unlike many schools, all RAC instructors must undergo an advanced training programme before taking to the road with their pupils.
