4 September 2001: Rap music is more likely to lead to road rage than any other kind of music, according to a new survey. Indeed, tracks by Eminem are particularly likely to get drivers hot under the collar, it found.

Pop is seen as the best music to listen to behind the wheel because it is perceived to be the most soothing, responses by drivers aged under 40 showed.

Male drivers fancied being stuck with Madonna, Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears, while female motorists went for George Michael, Robbie Williams and Ricky Martin.

Drivers tend to think more about their jobs, money and football than the road ahead of them.
