Ford March leader, Toyota rules quarter

06 April 2004: With 14.1 per cent of the market, Ford was the leading car brand in March, ahead of Toyota (11.5 per cent) and Nissan (10.3 per cent).

VW had 9.9 per cent and GM Opel 9.7 per cent of the 23,203 units sold.

Toyota is still the brand leader for the first quarter, with 12.7 per cent, followed by Ford with 11.6 per cent and Nissan with 9.3 per cent.

Registrations for the 1st quarter were 77,172, up 10.1 per cent on the first three months of 2003.
