MPV ownership growing

22 May 2002: MPV ownership in Ireland has increased from 4.6 percent of the market in 1996 to 7.8 percent last year. The change has been mainly at the expense of 4-door saloons and 3-door hatchbacks.

Northern Ireland has also seen a significant increase in multi-purpose vehicle ownership from 1995 to 2000, with just over 1 in 10 new cars being an MPV by 2000.
