12 November 2002: The top five cars in the final shortlist for the Semperit Irish Car of the Year 2003 are the Citroen C3, the Honda Jazz, the Mazda 6, the Nissan Primera, and the Opel Vectra.

The selection was made by a panel of Irish motoring journalists and the competition is organised annually by the Irish Motoring Writers Association.

The panel will now vote for the winner, which will be announced on Thursday 21 November at a lunch in Dublin.

The winner of the Semperit Irish Van of the Year will also be announced at that event, from a shortlist of the 'Sevel Three' - the Peugeot Boxer, Citroen Relay and Fiat Ducato - the Ford Focus Van, the Nissan Interstar and the Opel Combo.
