Suzuki launches new Alto here

6 May 2002: Suzuki Ireland have launched the all-new Alto 1.1-litre on the Irish market. Prices start at 11,225 euros ex works. The Suzuki Alto 4-seater was first seen at the Geneva Motor Show in March (above).

The redesigned Alto differs in many respects to its predecessor. The new 1.1-litre engine offers more power and better fuel efficiency. The Alto’s CO2 emissions at 119g/km are among the lowest achieved with a petrol engine. It offers a return of 57.6 mpg for the combined cycle.

Standard equipment includes twin airbags, front electric windows and central door locking, reclining and sliding front seats; split, foldable rear seats; green tinted windows, Halogen headlamps, manually adjustable outside mirrors, and immobiliser.

The Alto comes in a choice of four body colours, Bright Red, Sapphire Blue Metallic, Fantasy Black and Cool Silver Metallic.

As with all Suzuki vehicles the new Alto is covered by a 3-year/60,000 miles warranty and a 3-year roadside assistance programme.

Supplies will be limited in the current year and it will be 2003 before they will be in plentiful supply.
