20 June 2001: Suzuki has introduced a 1-litre version of its Wagon R+ to the Irish market, using the proven engine which has powered the Swift series for many years.

The latest 1.3-litre version has been on sale since June of last year. The 1-litre, which has a specification including front electric windows, electric door mirrors, and dual airbags. It sells for £9,750.

In a recent series of tests by Auto Express Magazine, the Suzuki Wagon R+ proved to be the most thief-proof car in Britain, with car-stealing experts unable to break into the car after five minutes. The Wagon R+ also came top of its segment in the latest JD Power Car Customer Satisfaction Study. TW
