06 November 2002: Suzuki Ireland is the sponsor of the Ladies National Football League of the Ladies Gaelic Football Association. It is the first time ladies league games have been sponsored. It is also the first sponsorship of its kind by Suzuki.

Niall O’Gorman, General Manager of Suzuki Ireland said women form a very large proportion of the company’s customer base and Suzuki was therefore very pleased to sponsor their leisure activities. “The game has expanded in recent years, especially with the advent of live television coverage of the All Ireland Finals,” he said yesterday. “Suzuki Ireland is enthusiastic about this sponsorship, the growth potential of the Suzuki Ladies National Football League and looks forward to working in tandem with Cumann Peil Gael na mBan over the coming season".

All 32 counties will compete in the Suzuki National League with the women of Kilkenny making their debut on the inter county scene. Such is the growth of Ladies Gaelic Football in recent times that six counties will field a second team in this years National League.

The Division 1 Final of the Suzuki Ladies National Football League will be shown live and exclusive on TG4.
