IRHA condemns truck speeders

15 May 2003: The Irish Road Hauliers Association has called on the public to report instances of bad driving and speeding by trucks.

This follows a damning report on speeding by trucks from the National Roads Authority during the week, which says that 92 per cent of articulated trucks speed on built up areas, while 82 per cent break the limit on motorways and 74 per cent on main roads.

The report also says that 99 per cent of car drivers broke the speed limit in 30mph zones and 82 per cent in 40mph zones.
