Fiat launches Ulysse in Ireland

21 May 2003: Fiat has launched the new generation Ulysse in Ireland at prices ranging between E34,995-E45,295.

The MPV is one of a triumvirate joint programme with Peugeot and Citroen, but comes in a number of different specification packages, and with the addition of Fiat's 2.2-litre JTD turbodiesel to the 2-litre petrol and diesel options available in the other brands.

The Ulysse has a very distinctive front end design, and Michael Howe, MD of Fiat Auto Ireland (pictured on the right with the company's marketing director Massimo Minetola) says it completes Fiat's vehicles in the 'family' end of the market, the others being the Stilo Wagon and the Multipla (which is itself due for a major redesign next year).

The Ulysse comes in Dynamic, Emotion and Admiral specifications, with a wide selection of options and option packages, including leather 'Captain Chairs'.

The 2-litre petrol is available in all three specification groups. The 2.-litre JTD in Dynamic only; and the 2.2-litre JTD is available in Emotion and Admiral.

Michael Howe said that because the vehicle was late coming to market here, he doesn't expect to see the full capability of the car reached until 2004, when he expects 150 units will be sold.
