VW beats M-B as 'most trusted'

19 April 2004: Volkswagen is now the most trusted brand in Germany, according to a new survey, and has overtaken Mercedes-Benz for the top slot.

The Readers Digest European Trusted Brands survey asked nearly 30,000 readers across Europe for their views.

The Wolfsburg company's products were also top dogs in Austria and Switzerland. Mercedes-Benz held its premier spot in in Poland, Portugal, Russia and Spain.

Opel is the most trusted car brand in Holland and Hungary, and Ford is the leader in Britain.
